Installation instructions for solar street lights

1、 Composition and working principle of solar street lights

 

Solar street lights mainly consist of solar cell components, intelligent controllers, maintenance free batteries, light sources, lamp posts, and structural components.

 

The working principle of solar street lights is that the solar cell module converts solar radiation into electrical energy during the day, charges the maintenance free battery, and provides power to the light source load at night. The light source automatically lights up when it is dark. The intelligent controller protects the battery from overcharging and discharging, and controls the opening and lighting time of the light source.

 

2、 Foundation pouring

 

1. Determine the position of standing lights; Survey the geological conditions. If the surface is covered with soft soil at a depth of 1.2 meters, the excavation depth should be deepened; At the same time, it is necessary to confirm that there are no other facilities below the excavation location (such as cables, pipelines, etc.), and it is required that there is no long-term shading object on the top of the street lamp, otherwise it needs to be replaced appropriately.

 

2. Reserve (excavate) a standard 1-3 meter pit at the position of the lighting fixture; Perform positioning and pouring of embedded parts. The embedded parts are placed in the center of the square pit, with one end of the PVC conduit placed in the middle of the embedded parts and the other end placed in the battery storage area (as shown in the above figure). Pay attention to keeping the embedded parts, foundation, and original ground in the same horizontal plane (or the top of the screw in the same horizontal plane as the original ground, depending on the needs of the site), with one side parallel to the road; This way, it can ensure that the lamp post is upright without tilting. Then use C20 concrete to pour and fix it. During the pouring process, the vibration rod should not be stopped to ensure the overall compactness and firmness.

 

3. After the construction is completed, clean the residual mud on the positioning plate in a timely manner, and clean the impurities on the bolts with waste oil.

 

4. During the solidification process of concrete, it is necessary to water and maintain it regularly; The installation of chandeliers can only be carried out after the concrete has completely solidified (usually more than 72 hours).

 

3、 Installation of solar cell modules

 

1. Measures must be taken to avoid short circuiting of the positive and negative terminals of the battery module before connecting them to the controller;

 

2. The connection between the solar cell module and the bracket should be firm and reliable;

 

3. The output lines of the components should be avoided from being exposed and securely tied with zip ties;

 

4. The orientation of the battery module should face due south, with the compass pointing towards it.

 

4、 Battery installation

 

1. When placing the battery in the control box, it should be handled with care to prevent damage to the control box;

 

2. The connecting wires between batteries must be bolted onto the battery terminals and reinforced with copper gaskets to enhance conductivity;

 

3. The output line should not be short circuited under any circumstances after being connected to the battery to avoid damaging the battery;

 

4. The output line of the battery must be connected to the controller inside the pole through a PVC conduit;

 

5. After completing the above, check the wiring at the controller end to prevent short circuits. Close the door of the control box after normal operation.

 

5、 Installation of lighting fixtures

 

1. Fix various components: fix the solar panel to the solar panel bracket, fix the lamp head to the cantilever arm, then fix the bracket and cantilever arm to the main pole, and thread the connecting wire to the control box (battery box).

 

2. Before lifting the lamp post, check whether the fasteners in each part are firm, whether the lamp head is installed correctly, and whether the light source is working properly. Then, check if the simple debugging system works properly; Release the solar panel connection wire on the controller, and the light source will work; Connect the solar panel connection wire and turn off the light; At the same time, carefully observe the changes of each indicator light on the controller; Only when everything is normal can lifting and installation be carried out.

 

3. When lifting the main lamp post, pay attention to safety precautions; The screws are absolutely tightened. If there is a deviation in the Chaoyang angle of the component, it is necessary to adjust its Chaoyang direction to be completely south.

 

4. Put the battery into the battery box and connect the connecting wire to the controller according to technical requirements; Connect the battery first, then the load, and then the solar panel; When wiring, it is important to ensure that all connections are not connected incorrectly to the terminals indicated on the controller, and that the positive and negative polarities do not collide or be reversed; Otherwise, the controller will be damaged.

 

5. Whether the debugging system is working properly; Release the solar panel connection wire on the controller, and the light will turn on; Connect the solar panel connection wire and turn off the light; At the same time, carefully observe the changes of each indicator light on the controller; Only when everything is normal can the control box be sealed.

 

6、 Precautions

1. Solar street lights use solar radiation as their energy source, and the adequacy of sunlight shining on the photovoltaic modules directly affects the lighting effect of the lamps. Therefore, when selecting the installation location of the lamps, the battery modules can be exposed to sunlight at any time without any obstructions such as leaves.

 

2. When threading, be sure not to clamp the wires at the connection of the lamp post. The connection of the wire should be firmly connected and wrapped with PVC tape.

 

When using, to ensure aesthetics and better reception of solar radiation, please clean the dust on the battery components every six months, but do not rinse them with water from bottom to top.
